How Popcakes collects, uses and protects the information you send through this website when you order cake pops in Ottawa.
The order form asks for your name, email address and phone number, the flavours and quantities you want, your pickup or delivery preference, and optional event details and a message. You choose what to put in the message field, so please leave out anything you do not want us to hold. We do not ask for payment card details through this website.
Enquiry details are used to answer you, quote your order, confirm availability and lead time, and arrange the pickup or delivery you asked for. We keep a record of agreed orders so we can honour them and answer questions afterwards. We do not sell your information and we do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.
Each request is emailed to the Popcakes order inbox and a confirmation copy is emailed to the address you supplied. A copy may be passed to the order system Popcakes uses to track enquiries. Our web host stores the website, its database and its server logs on our behalf. Nobody else receives your details unless the law requires it.
WordPress sets functional cookies that keep the site and its caching working, and the order form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the sender is a person rather than a bot. Your browser also stores the page you arrived on and any campaign or referral tags from that visit, and sends them with your enquiry so we know where the request came from. This site does not run advertising trackers and does not build advertising profiles.
Enquiries that do not become orders are kept while the conversation is useful and then deleted. Records of completed orders are kept for our business and tax records, then removed. Server logs are rotated by our host on their own schedule.
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@popcakes.ca or call the number on the contact page and tell us which request you are making. We reply to privacy requests within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
This website is intended for adults placing orders. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
